Here is a mood board of pictures that reflect the genre of Indie which I have selected for my magazine. I have included pictures of image, style, colour, artists, music, front covers, contents page, sell lines and double page spread, this will all help me with influencing some ideas when it comes to creating my music magazine. Furthermore, it has aided me in familiarising myself with the genre and its typical conventions so that I am able to represent the genre well and also get across to my audience clearly what my magazines brand of identity is.
The images of current artists on my mood board has given me ideas for the content of my magazine, I could feature them in articles reinforcing the genre to my audience and keeping their attention. Looking at the different styles and fonts each magazine has used has me thinking about my masterhead, anchorage text and sell lines and how I can present the layout of my magazine. Throughout my mood board I have used natural imagery such as grass and the sky to portray the nature and relaxed environment. This has been done through images such as artists singing at festivals which is a natural surrounding. I could then link this to my magazine as a theme for the colour scheme, for example blue and green which would connote nature. Furthermore, this could also reflect on the location, lighting and mise en scene when it comes to taking the photography for my images. In conclusion, by researching and putting together this mood board it has helped by starting of the thinking and idea process about conventions I can use for my indie magazine.
