The name/masterhead of this school magazine is 'School Sport'. As you can see the text stands out as the font is a large size so you can clearly read the title also the colour of the text is gold, therefore it is a standout colour which will draw the readers attention to the page.
Many features inside the magazine are advertised down the sell lines of the front cover. It gives out information so the reader knows what articles to expect within the magazine. This is effective as the audience get a taster of what the magazine is going to contain therefore enticing them to read the magazine. Also due the the sell lines being at the sides of the front cover it does not cover the main image therefore you are still able to see what is going on behind. The colour used for the sell line text is yellow which connotates happiness and white which stands out to the audience and will catch their attention, drawing them to the page. Also these colours keep in with the theme of the masterhead linking the whole front cover together. The main colour or yellow/gold isn't gender specific therefore it appeals to both genders which will increase the popularity as both males and females will be interested in reading the magazine.
Again there is more text situated at the bottom of the magazine which advertises more articles but also lets readers know about competitions and games which they maybe interested in participating in.
The main image is a great shot taken from an unusual angle it entices the audience as they may want to know what the main imagine is about, also the girl in the main image is wearing Olympics uniform therefore the Olympics must have a connection with this school in particular therefore the readers may enjoy finding this out. At the top of the front cover just under the masterhead there is use of a puff in the shape of a circle, this usually gives out information about articles or subscription.
Overall I think this is a successful school magazine as the main imagine is striking, the sell lines are packed with information about the articles inside which will engage the attention of readers. The masterhead is big and bold so that it is clear for the audience to know what the magazine is about. The use of a puff will interest the audience even more. The one criticism I would say about this school magazine is that the colour scheme could stand out a bit more, the gold could be a lot brighter also the same with the text down the sell lines to make it clearer to the reader and to increase attention also they could have included anchorage text which would explain to the audience what the main image is about therefore giving them an idea before going to read the article.
