Above is the final image that I am going to be using for a smaller feature on the contents page of my school magazine. I took a number of the similar photos therefore choose this one and decided that this was the right image suited to the feature. It is an over the shoulder, mid shot that was taken at my home at a desk which I think is the perfect location as the feature or article I am going to be using it for is 'Homework Club' which is related to students working from home.
Above is a mid shot that I took against a dark background so that the student was the main focus. However I did not not realise that the shot was not taken entirely with the background. Therefore decided that this shot was not suitable for a smaller feature on the contents page of my music magazine.
Using the same shot from above I 'Cropped' the shot on Windows Photo Gallery so that the dark background was only on show, I also cropped the photo so that the student was the sole focus and taking up the image. However I did not like how the students face was a bit blurry therefore am not going to use it in my contents page for a smaller feature.
This shot is the same cropped shot as above, as I did not like the image being slightly blurry so I used Pixlr.com to make the image brighter. I now think that the image has more life to it and I will be using it for a smaller feature on my contents page.
Above is a mid shot that I took for the front cover of my magazine. I think the positioning of the picture is good as you can clearly see the instrument being used. However did not like that the student looked disinterested in the audience which would not have made the perfect main image for the front cover. I also felt that the student looked unnatural standing with the guitar.
Above is another shot I took for the front cover of my magazine. I preferred the student sitting down as I felt the image looked more comfortable and have definitely decided on her sitting down. However I did not get the full instrument in the shot which I felt was key, therefore I will not be using this shot.
Above is the final shot I am going to be using for my front cover of my school magazine. I think it is effective because the instrument is in the full shot and the student is clearly hard at work playing the guitar. I also rotated the angle of the shot to make the image look more interesting. The student looks comfortable and at ease which will connect with the audience. I also think this is a great shot because my target audience wanted a main image where the student was in an activity.
